If you are planning on visiting Summerwind, be prepared. It was very difficult to find. Once we were ready to leave, a neighbor blocked us in and threatened the sheriff on us for trespassing. I was 25 at the time and was with my brothers, step-brother and step-sister all who are just a few years younger than I. When we came back later that day with my mother and step-mother we didn't have any problems. I think a lot of teenagers still try to party there and disrupt normal life.

*blinks*

I did not put this posting (above) on this thread... I swear!

I am confused...

Heck, I want to go to Summerwind and be there, but not have the cops chase me down or anything. Trespassing is not cool. What does it take, to have property left alone, when there is no welcome mat rolled out for the kiddies?

Sheesh. I could write a novel on some incidents, but will refrain from it.
I am out of coffee on a fine day like this.

And then did I mention I want to go to Summerwind?

The title of this thread was changed by Zodiac316.
I am changing it back.

Please refrain from changing thread titles, in courtesy of other members who might have been reading about this location -- Summerwind.

Look for an appropriate catagory and start a new thread if need be, if there is not a thread you can add on to.

Thank you.

Has anyone visited summerwind in WI? I want to go see it and am trying to find the location. I have narrowed it down I believe it's off of Highway B and one the west bay lake. I believe it's either off of big lake rd. or Meadow Land pt. road. Can anyone offer any help? I live only a few hours away and want to go find it. But, I need help locating it.

Check the forum at http://www.unexplainedresearch.com. That's Chad Lewis's site and I think Summerwind has been discussed a bit there. Also, I think he has directions to it in his Road Guide to haunted Wisconsin. Good luck.

Just for the heck of it, I googled summer wind mansion. To be honest, I never really expected to find it listed. As a teenager I spent the night in the abandoned mansion several times with groups of my friends. We went there at least 2 or 3 times per month for a period of three years. 1983, 1984 and my senior year 1985. I took an enourmous amount of pictures of the place inside and out and lost them all over the years. I regret not holding on to them. I even wrote my senior term paper on Summerwind and the carver effect! My paper was submitted to the Lakeland times and was published by the newspaper along with my photos. I met the author of the book and talked to him several times in person. He was just a nice old man. Looking at the pictures of the ruins makes me want to cry. It was one fabulous place to explore and we always had a great time while we were there. It was true, even back then; that the place was highly guarded by the neighbors so we had to always keep it pretty quiet while we were there.
Sleeping there took some nerve but once we survived one night we became addicted to the thrill and kept sneaking in to spend the night. The mansion had to have been very majestic and beautiful at one time. I find it so sad that it was allowed to fall into such disrepair, and eventually abandoned to burn down.

I was just viewing jweber26's pics he took of Summerwind. Does anyone else notice the haze in the 2 pictures or is it just me? Seeing that gave me chills. I have been interested in Summerwind for quite some time and have seen all the shows and read alot about it. I just find it very interesting and that its located in Wisconsin even more interesting.

My sister and I are planning a bike trip to Summerwind. I am completely unfamiliar with the land. So can someone give me directions? (from Three Lakes)
Or is it not even accessible, who even owns it?

I have been to summerwind, it is very hard to find if you do not know where it is. I can help anyone who needs help finding it. There is not much left but it is a beautiful property. It is not as haunting as it must have been before the fire. It was not very scary or suspenseful. We had gone late at night and there were quite a few of us. We did not take any pictures or anything but the pictures previously posted are exactly the same as when i was there about two months ago. Anyone can go ahead and send me a message to get directions or ask any questions. I have read every article I can find on the place because I have wanted to see it since I was younger. I absolutely loved going and I would go again. The building has been vandalized and spray painted quite a bit but somehow it does not change what is left much.

I went to Summerwind about 3 weeks ago. It took us 4 1/2 hours to find. It was really grown over with moss and didn't look as nice as the pictures posted earlier. It was amazing though!!! Anyone that is interesting in the paranormal needs to see it.
