Basically search via Google, but the "good stuff" that does a goo job of filtering out white noise, etc may cost $. I personally would not use something designed for just music playback.

I use Audacity and like it. I've used it to clean up recordings of unknown sounds usually tied in with another interest of mine, not ghost related. It takes time to get the hang of it, but the results can be quite satisfying.
