heh Kozmos,
You still out there? You missed two really great investigations with the group I'm in; one a theatre and the other a hotel. Came up with orbs, strange sensations and evps. What IS going on with this website and why no current postings? Carol

Well, no, Charles didn't "off" Diana. In fact Charles was "offed" in the third epi with him! LOL! Too bad--Duncan Regehr was quite a hottie and still is.
I watched "V" too and so far it seems to be going down the same road. In the old series, people were processed like cattle in a slaughterhouse. We shall see if the eating people thing pops out in the new series.

Thanks for the welcome durty! I often hear small planes circle over our home and I expect these are flying students. You're absolutely correct about the flooding of the Indian village of Post. I actually was in a play depicting those events at the LCO community college here in Hayward on the reservation. All Indians were moved to a new area defined as New Post but the burial grounds were flooded as well as all of the former occupant's belongings. It's uncertain how many natives refused to leave and may have drowned in the flooding. The Chippewa flowage is now over that flooded land and I find the entire flowage a relatively spooky place. If you go out on it fishing you better have a very reliable map with you because the bogs move and you can get lost really fast. My father-in-law, who is now deceased, was horribly lost on the Chip in a thunderstorm and was frightened out of his wits. There are two books with tales related to ghost stories on the Chippewa flowage, in particular "Ghost Island". I live on Spider Lake which doesn't have any documented stories, but when I walk our dog at night, I sometimes get shivers down my spine, usually in the fall months, when lights appear to be on in cabins occupied only in summer. I confess that I have a very active imagination, but the lake seems to whisper at night and if you listen real close you may hear tales of days of old and secrets known only to the lake.

Personally I've had dreams. Not to long ago I dream't about a old work friend that came to say good bye. this dream kinda bothered me so I was talking it over with someone at work and it turned out that this friend of mine Died in Iraq around the time. I also dreamed of a close friend and teacher a couple of years after he died. In my dream I asked him "ain't you dead?" and he said yeah. I thanked him for everything he taught me and told him I missed him and he told me to remember a certain date (which for the life of me I can't remember). Somethings that I've heard has happened in my wifes family has been microwaves freaking out, all the windows in a car all rolling down at once. But heres another side of the whole dead keeping in touch Harry Houdini told his wife to hold séances on Halloween and he would return and give her a code word so she would know it was him. and she did for 10 years after his death. but she stopped saying "ten years is long enough to wait for any man." but they still hold séances on Halloween and never contacted him. could it happen?Sure. In my case I kinda just chalk em up to dreams. and as far as the other things I've heard I Trust the people that have had it happen to them. But I was not there to see or try to figure out what could have caused the malfunction 2 things to remember1. the power of suggestion is very strong 2.Sometimes things are just as they Seem

Well there is a major flaw in this thinking, well about 3am that is. Its called daylight savings. Think about it. Also know that the countries that observe it are in the minority.
So... not only would spirits and such have to be aware of it, they would possibly have to have died AFTER the US (or where ever) started observing it. Which I think is 1918 - not to mention the adjustments to it in 1987 and recently in 05 or 07 (i forget).
Now is when someone rebuts that the spirits are somehow aware of this change, but that would indicate an in inelegant haunting only.
So for me I think three is a nice "solid" number and easy to spot. To have an intelligent knock once could be anything. Twice, maybe something. But three is almost a "baseline" number.

1 st off welcome to the board The Chippewa flowage used to be dry land or at least some of it . until they dammed up the out flow of it and it rose to what it is today. However when they dammed it up they flooded a few Indian burial grounds and as the story goes(from a D.N.R. warden who used to work on the flow age)Some times you can see "ghosts of Indians" on the many islands. here is an interesting web site.www.cfla.us/history.html that goes a little more in to detail. just some personal info I learned how to fly air planes in Hayward

not sure what this one's for ... « Result #11 on Nov 7, 2009, 4:40pm »
i've always had a very active dreaming life and think that several times i may have spent time with loved ones who have passed (my busia even gave me messages to take to various family members), but this dream i have to admit creeped me out a bit.
i dreamed i was taking somebody i knew (but can't remember from the dream) to a house i had visited previously and knew to be haunted with full poltergeist-type activity -- tchotchke flying everywhere. i was really excited to show this person; knew (s)he would LOVE it.
i walked the familiar hallway to the room, pushed open the door to find the usual juggling act going on inside, and upon turning back slightly to smile at the person i brought, i was pulled and thrown into the room.
it was so sudden and violent that it knocked the wind out of me, and i felt an overwhelming sense of anger surround me that wasn't mine. i knew i was feeling what the spirit was feeling ... and without hearing anything, the name THOMAS EAGAN and the word MURDER appeared in my mind. then i awoke.
i know it's probably not the first time i've ever dreamed up some names of people i don't know, but it is the first that i've actually remembered upon waking ... and the angry feeling. i wondered all morning if this was somebody who had been murdered reaching out for justice.
later that day, i started sharing it with a few people. when i told my mom (who loves all things paranormal) about the dream, she took it and ran to the internet.
now this isn't the sort of story i would have heard anywhere (not exactly in my backyard or huge news by any means because it's so dated), but it's kind of creepy that it's not too terribly far from me (i live in nw wisconsin). perhaps my subconscious was tapping into the cosmic soup ... or was it a personal contact?
i can't help but wonder if i was meant to do something about this, so i'm glad i have the chance to post it here. unfortunately, it is far enough away from me that i can't investigate it further personally.
if anybody happens to have access to photos of this house and its interior (because i remember what it looked like quite clearly), or relatives who live in the Sioux Falls area who might have more info, i'd sure love to see and/or hear it!

Well I have to admit the first episode of V was somewhat chilling! Even more so Katie K. when I read your post! Are they really going to eat people? I think they're doing a good job portraying the mob mentality that exists now. I'll definitely stay tuned next week. It reminds me of a really good book I've once read called "Under the Skin". If anyone is interested, I'll look up the name of the author. Really horrifying! Oh, Katie, did Charles off Diana in the series? (just kidding )

Hope I'm not ruining the surprise. They eat humans. Just sayin', since the series was very popular in the 80s. I only watched a few eps but it is notable for having Robert Englund, later "Freddy Krueger", in a supporting role. I did watch the 3 part ep with Duncan Regehr as "Charles" the "V" leader who comes to earth to marry "Diana" the commander of the "V" forces. Charles---Diana---get it? Yuk yuk yuk.

Are you talking about all the ghost hunting shows? I would have to say that Zak from Ghost Adventures is a favorite, simply because he is so outrageous at times but apparently pretty dedicated. As far as clowns are concerned, if they weren't so detrimental to the field, "Extreme Paranormal' is good for a laugh.

Personal Contact with the other side « Result #23 on Nov 1, 2009, 12:04pm »
Well another Halloween has passed, when the veil between here and the other side is suppose to be the thinnest, and I've had no success contacting my sister who died in 2007. Has anyone out there had any experience or successful communication with friends or loved ones? I have read numerous books and tried different methods but no luck. When my brother died he left a definite sign about six months after passing. I had a radio turn on while I was in the shower and it was playing "I will always love you" by Whitney Houston. I should note that it was really cranked up loud! I'm not a huge fan of Whitney Houston and thought someone (either my daughter or husband) was intentionally trying to get my dander up but on checking their whereabouts, my daughter was in a bathtub in another part of the house and my husband was asleep nowhere near the radio which was up in the loft of our log home. It spooked me but I couldn't figure out the connection. It wasn't until X-mas when I received a card from my brothers former girlfriend that the pieces fit. She wrote that every time she hears Whitney Houston's song "I will always love you" she gets blue because it was Tom's (my brother) favorite song! The hair stood up on my neck and I new he contacted me to say he was fine. Anyone out there have a similar experience?

I went to Summerwind about 3 weeks ago. It took us 4 1/2 hours to find. It was really grown over with moss and didn't look as nice as the pictures posted earlier. It was amazing though!!! Anyone that is interesting in the paranormal needs to see it.

From what I've heard the total investment in making that film was $15,000 and they've taken in millions already! I've seen the trailers and I looks like it could be scary but I'm not to sure small towns like Hayward will ever get it.
